The very exciting, fun full and an important age of the life is that of Teen age.
The Teenage years are very important for starting healthy habits that will help you out for lifetime. The habits, these teenagers will adopt at this time will remain with them the whole life long. Here are some tips for teenagers who want to start and stay healthy for rest of their healthy and fun full life.
1. Start with Drinking more Water
We have already said about the importance of water to attain a good health. This undoubtedly applies for the teenagers too. Teenagers being most active at this time should keep their hydrated with at least 8 glasses of water a day, which will regulate metabolism and purity of their body. This will help you in flushing away all the harmful foreign substances from your body, which can further make you slim and fit. Especially girls that are more look conscious will attain their sexy and slim body. The great idea to keep you hydrated is to keep a water bottle with you when you are out. In this way you don’t have to fetch the sources.
2. Manage your sleeping pattern
‘Early to bed and early to rise’ is still a very fruitful trick to attain a better health. Study your sleeping patterns and take proper actions if you have some sleep problems. Habit of staying up late for hours and get up late can cause to the development of insomnia, which in turn can lead to other psychological disorders such as clinical depression and bipolar disorder. While getting enough sleep and at proper times, raises your alertness during the day, and minimizes stress and anxiety.
3. Cultivate the habit of Exercising
It is seen that regular exercise can lead you to the better health and also better sleeping patterns. Exercise is very important for all the ages and teenagers can apply and cultivate these habits which will help them in the future in attaining good health. Teenagers should exercise at least three to five times per week. They can go for a run, a bike ride, or a challenging hike. They can also join some fitness clubs, and join some sports team. Joining some team and groups can increase your will to exercise because of its competing nature. Keeping active will make you stronger physically and mentally. Any sport that you choose will probably help if you try hard. Non-team sports like walking, horseback riding, or swimming laps are great. Even hitting a tennis ball across a net and running to pick it up is great!
4. Keep a look on your hygienic conditions
Teenager being more active at work or play do not bother about their hygienic conditions. They often forget to wash their hands before taking the meals. It is recommended that they should wash their face in the morning and at night before they go to bed to keep their skin healthy and clean. You should brush your teeth two to three times a day for a clean and fresh mouth. Taking care of your appearance will also make you feel better about yourself, which really is the most important thing.
5. Don’t skip your Breakfast
Teenagers should eat their breakfast regularly as breakfast is the most important meal
for the teenagers. It is commonly seen that teenagers skip their breakfast in hurry to their school or college, which is not good for them, because it provides the body with its first fuel of the day. Starting with a good breakfast will also keep you concentrated during the day, and you will have fewer cravings. Good breakfast foods include fruit, eggs, milk, cream of wheat, oatmeal, or toast.
6. Take Healthy Food
Avoiding more junks is most important for teenagers. All the foods which have no nutritional value qualify as junk food. Your body can not work effectively and healthy by just depending on the junk foods. So try to minimize it, as I know that junk and the fast foods are the craze of today’s teens. You can rather try for a piece of fruit, a handful of nuts, some celery, or a piece of cheese. Anything healthy as a snack will help maintain your energy level throughout the day. Also choose some low fat foods for your healthy body. Choosing anything low-fat, low-sugar, or low-sodium is better than anything full-fat, full-sugar, or full-sodium.
7. Eat Slow and Don’t Over Eat
It is very important to stop when you are full. Teenagers are commonly seen which don’t get the idea, that their stomach is full and they overeat. This is not a good eating habit; instead they should eat slowly and stop when they think they are full. Hunger is your body’s way of letting you know that it needs fuel and you should only eat the amount your body needs it. You should eat for your hunger and not for your taste. Fullness, or satiety, is your body’s way of letting you know it doesn’t need any more food. If you stop eating when you are full, you will get hungry every couple of hours, which is a good thing; this means your body is using what you give it.
8. Keep yourself in Good Posture
Many of the teenagers complains of having back pain, head pain, stomach pain or other sort of pains which results from the lack of appropriate posture. Teenagers should try to keep themselves in perfect postures which will make them comfortable and healthy. They, in this way can prevent many pains. Don’t slump during class! Hold yourself straight. Also there are many exercises that can help. Teenagers, working on their PCs or laptops often complain about head pain because of their inappropriate sitting posture and too much closeness of the monitor with their eyes, which is also unhealthy for their eyes.
9. Avoid bad company and bad habit friends
Friends with Good habits can be very helpful to you. They besides giving you some good habits also share some good and healthy eating habits with you. Teenagers are seen which adopt the habit of smoking, drinking and other harmful behaviors which are very hazardous for their future, due to their company. So avoiding these sorts of friends will be better for your future and also for your overall healthy well being. Try and keep with a supportive group of friends, and do fun activities with them.
10. Be Vegetarian
Consider going vegetarian. There are many studies that showed that vegetarians can still get proper nutrition, and it’s even better if you just hate meat anyway. Although studies also proved that non veg. contains much protein and carbohydrates which are better for health, but too much of non veg. can be harmful for you. You can rather add eggs and low volumes of non veg. if you can’t live without them. Avoiding non veg. is also good as a religious point of view. When you eat any non veg. it needs some violence as it is made by killing a living being created by God. Reports are there which are telling that people are using a man’s flesh for their hunger. Think it and think about taking a non veg. again…
